Through our actions, we reinforce the importance and benefits of environmental consciousness. We demonstrate business leadership by striving to do our part to sustain a healthy, clean environment for ourselves, and future generations. The Alpine Bank Green Team In 2005, an employee grass-roots effort was started - the Alpine Bank Green Team. The Green Team initiated an environmental management system to help us understand and measure our energy and water consumption, and waste production. They set environmental standards and quality management procedures to assist us in making positive changes to our current and future resource usage. We have minimized the environmental impact of our internal operations and we will strive to stay abreast of technological advances and innovations that can provide further environmental benefits. The Green Team initiative has provided us with a framework to measure our progress, assess our impact, and continuously improve our results. The Green Team also developed our Environmental Policy. It was shaped by our conviction that the health of our company is dependent on the health of our communities and society. Understanding that every part of our business has a potential impact on the environment, we commit to integrating environmental policy into our company’s operations at various levels. Our Standard of Excellence We have developed a systems approach to doing business through the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). In July of 2006, Alpine Bank earned ISO 14001:2004 certification – a globally recognized standard of excellence for environmental management. To earn and maintain this certification, we must meet strict standards for continuous improvement in managing our environmental impacts. Will You Join Us?
