Colorado Walkers Unite to Support Make-A-Wish® Colorado’s 5th Annual Walk for Wishes

On the morning of Saturday, October 2, walkers across the state will lace up their shoes and hit the trail—or, the neighborhood sidewalk—in support of children battling critical illnesses. Participants in the fifth annual Make-A-Wish Colorado Walk for Wishes, presented by 5DayDeal, can join the fun in-person during a live event at Denver’s Great Lawn Park, or take part virtually in their own town or neighborhood.

About 300 participants will gather at Great Lawn Park for a two-mile family-friendly walk around the park. The event will also feature a shorter Kids Fun Run, an expo, kids’ activities and games, and music by 12-year-old DJ Lil Coop—a former wish kid.

The festivities begin at 8:30 a.m. and the walk starts at 10 a.m. Virtual participants are encouraged to log on to Facebook Live at 10 a.m. for a pre-walk ceremony and celebration. Every participant is encouraged to share photos with the hashtag #WalkForWishesCO on their social media.

Walk for Wishes is a family-friendly event designed to celebrate wish kids and raise funds so that Make-A-Wish Colorado can grant even more wishes to children across the state who have critical illnesses.

Among the wish kid alumni participating this year are 7-year-old Ashley, 9-year-old Jax, 10-year-old Jonathan, 9-year-old Landon, 6-year-old Logan, 13-year-old Marik and 5-year-old Rowen. Each of these wish kids have experienced a life-changing wish and are walking to support Make-A-Wish Colorado so another child can experience the same kind of joy.
