Pet parents across Colorado flock to Chow Down Pet Supplies, a family-owned and -operated Colorado business with a history spanning 25 years. Its stores are located in Evergreen, Grand Junction, Fruita, Pagosa Springs and Montrose. A pet retail shop that also offers grooming and dog training, Chow Down fills their shelves with products from other small, family-owned companies to provide “the best of the best” in pet supplies to their loyal customers.
And since 2010, Krista Bush has been a part of the family business with her husband and business partner Tim. The pair opened the Montrose location in November 2012. “The support we have received from Montrose since we opened our doors has been incredible and we are beyond grateful,” said Krista. “I absolutely love creating relationships with customers and being able to offer them a quality of service and selection of products that they can’t get anywhere else!”
The level of customer service is the big differentiator that has contributed to their success over the past decade in Montrose. “We work hard to ensure that each and every customer has a unique experience in the store and that we do the best we can to fulfill whatever unique needs they may have,” said Krista.
Tim and Krista share their home with three giant dogs: Moose, Murphy, Jazz and their cat, Rowdy. When they’re not running the store, they’re likely out hiking (preferably with dogs), backpacking and mountain biking in the beautiful San Juan Mountains. Krista also loves to knit handmade gifts for friends and family.
“Alpine Bank was critical to making our recent growth and expansion possible. We were fortunate to purchase a commercial space in October, 2020. We were so grateful to have Alpine Bank by our side as we navigated the new terrain that came with purchasing and renovating commercial property,” said Krista. “Alpine Bank made what could’ve been a daunting process a much less stressful event than anticipated.”
