Coloradan, banker, volunteer, wife, mother & rafter.
Shelbi Bauer has a big sticker on her water bottle. It says “rig to flip”. That’s a term for whitewater raft rigging, and it means being ready for unanticipated circumstances in dynamic environments.
Not surprisingly, this fourth-generation Glenwood Springs native, and the vice president and manager of Alpine Bank Rifle, takes this bold approach with all her life’s adventures.
Shelbi serves as vice chair of the Rifle Community Foundation, treasurer of the Rifle Area Chamber of Commerce and board member of the Rifle Economic Development Council. Oh, and she volunteers to help clean up the river, too, with the Middle Colorado Watershed Council.
But her first love is her family. “I spend every minute I’m not working soaking up being a mom,” Shelbi says. “And I love camping, skiing and rafting.”
