COVID-19 has changed our world. We’ve had to adjust to working virtually, learning online, limiting social interactions and taking extra precautions to protect our health. While the mission of Make-A-Wish Colorado – to grant life-changing wishes to children with critical illnesses – has remained constant, the way in which the nonprofit raises funds has shifted to protect these vulnerable children and the community. This year, Make-A-Wish Colorado is hosting its first-ever virtual Walk For Wishes.
The fourth annual Walk For Wishes, presented by 5DayDeal, will feature teams and individuals from across the state participating in activities the weekend of October 10. Some will walk with neighbors, others will run with family and still others will share solo walks/runs via social media using the hashtag #WalkForWishesCO. All these Walk Stars will be united by a common cause: to support Make-A-Wish Colorado in spreading hope and joy to the children across our state who need it the most.
It’s easy to get involved. Simply register for free at www.walkforwishesco.org and then encourage friends, family and co-workers to join your team and fundraise. On October 10 at 9 am, Make-A-Wish Colorado will host a Welcome Ceremony on Facebook Live to kick off the walk.Plus, everyone who raises $100 or more will receive a Walk t-shirt.
