By the time David Gonzales was 17, his work was on display in the Smithsonian, the U.S. Capitol Congressional Tunnel and the Governor’s Mansion in Santa Fe, New Mexico. His work has been included in several national and international museum traveling exhibits. Gonzales’ early work reflects his heritage, rich in Native American and Hispanic cultural traditions, but his art quickly expanded to include many styles and mediums. Gonzales masterfully expresses his fascination with objects moving through space and time. It is this movement of related things that unifies his diverse work, which isn’t a static representation of a single moment but rather a living, ever-moving entity. “Spring Breck” depicts the intersection of Main Street and Ski Hill Road in Breckenridge, Colorado.
