 
                            Mike Burns
Chief Financial Officer
Mike has worked for Alpine Bank for nearly three decades and was named chief financial officer on August 10, 2025. He spent most of his career at the bank building retail markets and moved to Durango from Montrose in early 2005 to develop Alpine’s presence in southwest Colorado.
In his previous role, Mike oversaw key areas of the bank, including the Wealth Management Department with $1.3 billion in assets under management, Alpine’s Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), and 12 retail branches across six Western Colorado counties totaling nearly $2 billion in assets.
Mike holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration/finance from Colorado Mesa University and further advanced his studies at the University of Colorado Boulder’s Graduate School of Banking. He has been involved in several community organizations including past board chair of Mercy Regional Medical Center, founding board member of the La Plata County Economic Development Alliance and past board chair of Conservation Legacy (formerly known as Southwest Conservation Corps).
In his free time, Mike enjoys mountain biking, skiing, hiking, and backpacking with his two adult children.
