J. Robert Young Scholarship

The J. Robert Young Scholarship was established in 2008 by the Executive Committee and employees of Alpine Bank to honor bank founder and chairman Bob Young on the occasion of the bank’s 35th anniversary.

The J. Robert Young Scholarship is awarded to students residing in all Alpine Bank service areas. Students must have a 2.75 GPA or better and intend to major in business or a business-related degree. Scholarship recipients must plan to attend a Colorado college or university. These $1,000 scholarships are renewable. The scholarships are administered through Western Colorado Community Foundation.

Alpine Bank Scholarship (Colorado Mesa University)

This scholarship program is a partnership with Colorado Mesa University (CMU). Up to three scholarships will be awarded for the school year to be used towards the cost of tuition, books and fees. This scholarship will award $1,000 per student for one academic year. The application is open from October 1 to December 31. In order to be eligible, you must:

  • Be a Mesa County resident.
  • Have and maintain a minimum of 2.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA).
  • Have applied to Colorado Mesa University or CMU Tech to commence full-time studies or at least 12 credit hours in the next fall semester.
  • Demonstrate financial need.

Alpine Bank First-Generation Scholarships

This multi-college scholarship is a partnership with Colorado Mountain College (CMC), Denver Scholarship Foundation (DSF) and Colorado Mesa University (CMU). Guided by the philanthropic vision of J. Robert Young, Alpine Bank’s Chairman of the Board, many scholarships have been provided to students pursuing educational goals.

The purpose of the Alpine Bank First-Generation Scholarship is to open doors to qualified first generation (student whose parent(s) did not complete a college degree) to obtain a college education. Recognizing that these students are important contributors to the work force and our communities. Multiple scholarships are awarded each year to support the cost of in-district tuition, books and fees to students who are pursuing an Associate or Bachelor’s degree and would not otherwise be able to attend college.

Colorado Mountain College:

This scholarship will award $2,500 a year for two years. Second-year students will receive scholarship continuance upon proof of satisfactory academic standing. In order to be eligible you must:

  • Be a first generation college student.
  • Have a GPA of 2.5 (2.0 for alternative schools) or higher.
  • Attend CMC full time.
  • Be pursuing an Associate or Bachelor’s degree.
  • Be a graduating senior from Aspen High School, Basalt High School, Battle Mountain High School, Coal Ridge High School, Eagle Valley High School, Glenwood Springs High School, Grand Valley High School, Rifle High School, Roaring Fork High School, Steamboat Springs High School, Summit High School, Bridges High School, Red Canyon High School, Snowy Peaks High School or Yampa Mountain High School.

If recipient successfully completes the first year, the scholarship is eligible for renewal for a second year.

Denver Scholarship Foundation:

Up to two scholarships will be awarded each school year. This scholarship will award $5,000 to new scholars pursuing a bachelor’s degree to be used towards their first year of college. In order to be eligible, you must:

  • Be a first generation college student.
  • Attend a Denver Public School (DPS) high school for four consecutive years before graduation and be included in the DPS October Count for all four years.
  • Graduate from a DPS high school with at least a 2.5 GPA.
  • Demonstrate financial need via a FAFSA or CASFA application or alternate demonstration of need as defined by the current DSF Scholarship Policy.
  • Enroll in an accredited nonprofit, public or private college or university in the state of Colorado with which DSF has a partnership agreement.

Colorado Mesa University:

Independent Bankers of Colorado (IBC) Education Foundation Scholarship

Independent Bankers of Colorado (IBC) will award at least two (2) $1,000 one-year scholarships to be applied towards the cost of tuition, fees and books at a public or private university, college, junior/community college or vocation/trade school. Payment will be made directly to the school following enrollment and after classes have begun. This is a statewide scholarship contest.

Eligibility

In order to be eligible, students must be full-time high school seniors. Students must have applied to, and will attend, a Colorado (or contiguous state) public or private university, college, junior/community college or vocation/trade school after high school graduation. The students or their parent(s)/guardian(s) may not be an employee of the Independent Bankers of Colorado.

Requirements

  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Students must attend a Colorado (or contiguous state) university, college, junior/community college or vocation/trade school after high school graduation
  • Students or parent(s)/guardian(s) must have a banking relationship at an IBC member bank or branch for at least six months
  • Application must be complete, typed and signed by a bank representative
  • Students must answer the assigned essay question
  • Deadline for submission to your bank is Friday, March 31, 2023

The Imogene Pass Run and Alpine Bank are pleased to offer the Imogene Pass Run/Alpine Bank Scholarship for graduating track and field/cross-country athletes in the San Miguel and Ouray Counties.

Requirements

  • 2024 Graduates are eligible.
  • Must have attended high school in Ouray, Telluride, Ridgway or Silverton and participated in the cross country or track program.
  • Must include letter of recommendation from coach or athletic director.
  • The Application Deadline is April 15, 2024.

Alpine Bank College Scholarships for Colorado Cyclists

To support bicycle racing through the Colorado High School Cycling League and provide opportunities to pursue higher education in our great state, Alpine Bank is offering six $500 college scholarships to graduating high school students who will attend college in Colorado and participate in a collegiate cycling program. Scholarship applications are due by June 1. Apply online here. Funds will be distributed upon proof of enrollment and participation in the college's cycling program.

Alpine Bank Steamboat Springs Colorado Mountain College Scholarship

Alpine Bank Steamboat Springs offers this scholarship to a non-traditional student pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree at the Steamboat campus of Colorado Mountain College (CMC).

With it, Alpine Bank Steamboat endeavors to help alleviate some of the financial barriers for non-traditional students, and encourage recipients to achieve their higher learning and degree goals. The foundational philosophy is that a college degree can lead the awardee to a choice career, and this in turn builds a stronger community workforce. The scholarship will cover the full cost of in-district tuition, books and fees at Colorado Mountain College Steamboat Springs.

The award is $2,375 per year for up to two years, with an option to renew for an additional two years. (Apply directly to Adonna Allen at Alpine Bank Steamboat Springs for additional scholarship if a four-year degree is sought, by writing to [email protected].)

Eligibility:

This scholarship will be awarded to a non-traditional student who meets any one of the criteria* listed below:

  • Has delayed his or her enrollment into postsecondary education
  • Attends college part-time and works full time
  • Is considered financially independent for financial aid purposes
  • Has dependents other than a spouse
  • Is a single parent
  • Does not have a high school diploma
  • Is a degree-seeking student at the Steamboat Springs campus of CMC
  • Plans to be, or already is, a part-time or full-time student
  • Maintains a 2.5 grade point average (GPA), or higher
