Grant/sponsorship applications to the Vail and Eagle Valley Alpine Banks are considered in the spring and fall of each year. Deadlines for receipt of applications are March 30 and September 30. Faxed and emailed applications will be accepted. Applications must be received no later than 4:00 PM on the deadline date at Alpine Bank Edwards, 0069 Edwards Access Road, PO Box 2205, Edwards, Colorado 81632, for consideration. All applicants will be notified by mail within six weeks of these dates of the Bank’s decision.

Grant and Sponsorship Application Guidelines

  1. Alpine Bank supports nonprofit, charitable organizations which enhance the quality of life in Eagle County.
  2. As often as possible, applicants for funding will be tax exempt under the provisions of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
  3. Alpine Bank will prioritize funding of organizations where the results will benefit youth and social needs for the community and society at large.
  4. Alpine Bank prefers to fund specific programs and projects.
  5. Alpine Bank will consider funding to organizations no more than once in a calendar year.
  6. The Vail and Eagle Valley Alpine Banks generally do not consider funding for the following:
    1. organizations outside of Eagle County;
    2. individuals;
    3. projects which have been already completed or which will be held prior to funding decisions;
    4. deficits or retirement of debt;
    5. religious purposes;
    6. political campaigns or organizations which publicly take political positions;
    7. conduit organizations, i.e., organizations or events which pass funds to other organizations.
  7. Funds will be disbursed during the month in which the project or event occurs.

Final approval of funding is subject to the Funding Committee of the Vail and Eagle Valley Alpine Banks. Please recognize that Alpine Bank may receive applications for funding which exceed availability of funds and that all requests cannot be approved. However, all requests for funding that fall within the scope of our support will be given full consideration.

Grant and Sponsorship Application Procedures

Only one copy of the request should be submitted. If possible, please format applications as outlined below, and number answers to the following questions per these guidelines. Alpine Bank strongly encourages all applications be full and complete, answering all of the following questions.

  1. Name of organization.
  2. Mailing address.
  3. Contact person and telephone number.
  4. Amount requested from Alpine Bank. Please include ALL levels of support available for the program or event, with corresponding sponsor benefits for each level.
  5. Explanation of need for funding:
    1. description of the project; what, where, why, when, and how
    2. community need this project will serve
    3. other organizations participating in the project
    4. number of people who will be served by the project
    5. anticipated budget for the project
    6. other sources of funding for the project
    7. long-term strategies for funding this project
  6. Summary of banking relationship with Alpine Bank.
    *A banking relationship is not required to receive a donation or sponsorship from Alpine Bank.
  7. Purpose/mission of organization. Please include a description of all programs/events the organization coordinates, including those not related to this grant request.
  8. A list of the board of directors with their occupations and/or community affiliations.
  9. If applicable, please include reporting information for the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA). If your organization provides programs or services for low- or moderate-income individuals, please provide number of households served in each income bracket.

Organizations whose grant/sponsorship applications have been approved will be notified in writing. It will be the responsibility of the organization to bill Alpine Bank for the committed amount of funding no more than 60 days prior to the program’s beginning date or the event.

Additionally, it will be the duty of the organization to furnish to the Bank a brief summary report describing the manner in which the grant funds were spent and the progress that was made in accomplishing the purposes of the grant. Unless otherwise specified in the grant award letter, reports on spring grants are due February 1 of the following year, and reports on fall grants are due August 1 of the following year. Subsequent applications for organizations that fail to submit the required reports may not be eligible for consideration.
