“Maroon Bells in Aspen, Colorado,” by Amy Beidleman

Years ago, Amy Beidleman was smitten with watercolor painting when she saw Winslow Homer’s work. That love of the outdoors is evident in Beidleman’s paintings of local scenes. Beidleman is intrigued by the transformation of a blank piece of paper into a painted language, which she hopes the observer will enjoy. Painting was just a hobby until 2010 when a friend offered to sell her paintings as cards in an Aspen shop. Her card line has since expanded across Colorado and even includes her hometown in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. As a local bank CFO for many years, Beidleman has enjoyed the shift of working with banks, businesses and nonprofits by creating commercial art. She exhibits her work in art shows and volunteers as a curator at Aspen Chapel Gallery.
